These days, many cloud providers have adopted PromQL with the Prometheus data model into their SaaS centralized monitoring offerings. Many mature OSS projects also exist, which allow anyone to set up a centralized observability platform. For this reason, the Prometheus agent use case emerged, focusing on the robust and efficient configuration, scraping, and forwarding the metrics from inside the clusters to the remote storage of your choice.

Join us with your laptops and Kubernetes clusters to our workshop to learn how to efficiently, cheaply and seamlessly collect & forward Prometheus metrics to a centralized system with operators! There are multiple ways of doing this, and there is nothing better to learn than to experience the trade-offs yourself for exercise purposes.

To participate, please install (e.g. on your laptop using k3s, minikube, or kind) or get access to (EKS, GKE, etc.) any Kubernetes empty cluster with 2-3 nodes (can be small, but with at least 1GB memory).
